The park’s diverse bird species include crowned cranes, broad-tailed warblers, papyrus gonoleks, Bennett’s woodpeckers, Red-faced barbets, shoebills, broad-tailed warblers, Tabora cisticolas, familiar chats, and more.

Day 1: Pick up at the hotel, transfer to Akagera –enjoy a boat cruise
Prepare early enough, take a hot cup of tea or coffee and you will meet your trip leader for a briefing.
You will have insight into what this wildlife expedition is all about and at 8:00 am, leave the hotel for Akagera National Park in Eastern Province of Rwanda. From Kigali city to Akagera will take you 2.5 hours’ drive and lunch will be enjoyed on arrival at the safari lodge.
After a leisurely lunch and relaxation, transfer to Lake Ihema for an afternoon boat cruise excursion. This water recreation experience will take 2-3 hours and brings you excellent sightings of aquatic life, especially hippos, crocodiles and birds.
Aquatic birds to expect sighting here include the pied kingfishers, black crake, African fish eagle, malachite kingfishers, spur-winged lapwings, jacanas, and others.

Arise early, have a hefty breakfast, and after, board a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle fully prepared for your 6:00 am game drive.
Today’s game drive takes 2-3 hours and you will be viewing small and large mammals, including buffaloes, elephants, the Maasai giraffes, lions, rhinos, Uganda Kobs, roan antelopes, and birds.
Return to the game safari lodge for lunch and check out of the lodge. After, start your trip back to Kigali city about 2.5 hours’ drive.
As you exit the park, more wildlife and birds will be viewed. At Kigali, you will be dropped off at the hotel facility or airport for departure and today marks the end of your 2 Days Akagera National Park Safari – wildlife tour.
